The Generous Gift of Tenali Rama

Once upon a time in the bustling city of Vijayanagara, there lived a wise and witty man named Tenali Rama. Known for his cleverness and generosity, Tenali Rama was beloved by all who knew him.

One day, as Tenali Rama was walking through the market, he noticed a poor beggar sitting by the roadside, shivering in the cold. His heart went out to the beggar, and he decided to help in whatever way he could. So, he approached the beggar and offered him his warm cloak.

The beggar was taken aback by Tenali Rama's kindness and gratefully accepted the cloak. With tears in his eyes, he thanked Tenali Rama for his generosity. Touched by the beggar's gratitude, Tenali Rama smiled and continued on his way.

As word of Tenali Rama's act of kindness spread throughout the city, people praised him for his compassion and generosity. The king, hearing of Tenali Rama's selfless deed, summoned him to the royal court.

When Tenali Rama arrived at the court, the king praised him for his noble actions and asked what reward he desired in return. Tenali Rama, with humility, replied, "Your Majesty, I seek no reward other than the joy of helping those in need. It is enough for me to see the smile on the beggar's face."

Impressed by Tenali Rama's wisdom and humility, the king declared that from that day forth, Tenali Rama would be known as the Royal Advisor of Kindness and Compassion. And so, Tenali Rama continued to serve the king and the people of Vijayanagara with his wise counsel and generous spirit.

Moral: True wealth lies not in material possessions but in the kindness and compassion we show to others.
